Kerry D. Mitchell
Kerry has been coaching tennis professionally for 40 years. He has coached players of all levels and ages, including touring professionals. He is a certified professional both in the U.S. (Professional) and in Canada (Coach 2). He is a contributing writer of instructional articles for the tennis web magazine, Tennisplayer.net.
His career as a competitor started 42 years ago. Coming late to the game (13 yrs. old), Kerry stills enjoys competitive playing. He played 2 seasons of junior college tennis (U.S.) and a season of Division 1 college tennis at San Jose State University in San Jose, California.
Over the years he has been ranked at various levels from 4.5 to the Open level. As a senior player he has been nationally ranked in both the U.S. and Canada. Kerry is a 4-time Canadian Senior National Outdoor Singles Champion (2008-2009, 2013 and 2015). He has also been a 3-time Canadian National Doubles title winner (2009, 2012 and 2016). He has never been ranked lower than 3 nationally (in senior competition) in Canada for singles.
From 2007-2017 Kerry was the Head Tennis Professional at Sir Winston Churchill Tennis Club where he ran a very successful program for all ages and for all levels. Whatever your level or whatever your age Kerry is ready to help you improve and reach your potential as a player.
Starting his second year at Old Mill, Kerry is looking forward to a brand-new season full of fun and excitement.
